The 24,162 square feet building was constructed in 1975, expanded and modernized in 1994, and sits on 5.9 acres. The physical plant is one-story and contains thirty-two patient rooms. The seller acquired Derry as part of a portfolio of seven skilled nursing facilities, six of which were in Maryland. Thus this transaction is the seller’s strategic disposition of a non-core asset. The seller successfully operates the Maryland facilities under Axis Healthcare corporation, although the facilities are branded individually.
Based in Hewlett, NY, the buyer is a prominent private equity property owner and post-acute facility owner and operator in multiple states, including in New England.
