Healthcare Transactions Group, Inc. is pleased to announce the successful sale of Mid-Atlantic Health Care, Timonium, Maryland. Mid-Atlantic owned and operated 14 skilled nursing facilities, including 12 skilled nursing facilities in Maryland and 2 skilled nursing facilities in Pennsylvania, totaling 1,800 skilled nursing facility beds. The transaction closed in December 2016.
Healthcare Transactions Group initiated the transaction and served as Mergers and Advisor/Intermediary for Mid-Atlantic Health Care. The buyer was a Maryland-based multistate long-term care provider, also located in the Baltimore County. Because of the geographic proximity between the two companies, the buyer is able to realize significant synergies and cost-savings in transitioning Mid-Atlantic’s operations. In addition, the Mid-Atlantic name will be retained and will function as a division of the acquirer. Dr. Scott Rifkin, founder and CEO of Mid-Atlantic Health Care, will serve as CEO of Mid-Atlantic Health Care division. Terms and other details of the transaction are confidential.
